Our Name
The "ridge" in our name is a tribute to Martin Buber, the philosopher who advocated living life "on the narrow ridge"...the symbolic place where two people meet when communicating with one another.
The key to successfully walking the narrow ridge is being able to truly relate to another person—to understand their needs and perspectives—and openly communicate your own. On the ridge people speak the truth, challenge each other's beliefs, and give each other feedback on their actions. In doing so, we forge the relationships that push us to work and live at the height of our abilities.
For more than 30 years, we've been refining our communication skills...witnessing, with each client, the truth of Buber's ridge, and walking it ourselves as we teach others to do the same.
