Reinforcement
Even the most powerful training will have limited impact if follow-up is ineffective. Our reinforcement strategies focus on helping the participant apply the skills and enrolling the participant's manager in supporting skill use on the job.
ON THE JOB SUPPORT MATERIALS
All of Ridge's training provides on-the-job support materials that succinctly capture the key skills and communication models. These materials are designed to be incorporated discreetly into participants' work environment. [see example]
REINFORCEMENT MEMOS
Reinforcement memos are newsletters full of tips for applying the skills, real-life examples, and strategies for dealing with typical blocks to skill implementation. Participants receive these newsletters weekly (electronically or hard copy) for up to eight weeks following the training session. [see example]
EXTENDED LEARNING
One of the challenges to participants' applying new interpersonal skills is remembering to use them when opportunities arise. In signing up for our Extended Learning e-mail service, participants receive electronic messages with a brief skill assignment for that day. In this way they can extend the course long enough to help the skills take root in their work environment. [read more • see example]
